Bradenton Christian School Lighting Project
For years, Bradenton Christian School has not been able to play its home high school football games under ‘Friday night lights,’ but rather has had to play in the sweltering heat on Friday afternoons or Saturday mornings because the school’s stadium did not have any lights. However, in August 2010, all of that changed thanks to the help of a few local businesses. Performance Technical Services led the plan and enlisted the help of a local engineering firm, fabricator, and galvanizer. All parties donated their services, and the materials were all donated or offered at reduced costs to make the students’ and parents’ dream a reality.
Over 1000 man hours of volunteer work were put into the project to complete the installation of the lights in time for football season, including help from the students and football team. The project was truly the culmination of a community-wide effort to support a local school. The hot-dip galvanized pieces will ensure none of this effort is wasted and the Bradenton Christian School Panthers are playing under the bright Friday night lights for years to come.
The uniqueness of this project was the way in which the business community came together to support the need of a local school. The efforts were seen by the hundreds of children in the student body. They saw the impact they would be able to make as they graduate and become leaders in their career fields and communities.
