Boston Conveyor

Hot-dip galvanizing (HDG) was the logical choice for corrosion protection on this large concrete recycling plant. Subject to The Atlantic Ocean salt air, rough handling and abrasion the slightly initial higher cost for galvanizing was surpassed by the life-cycle cost advantages. Experience showed the manufacturer HDG provided superior corrosion protection for their products. "We know galvanizing works for our products." The sustainability of recycling concrete was supported by the sustainability of HDG.

The manufacturer had used HDG before but not on such a large installation. Some large sections had to be progressive dipped or made in smaller sections. The success of this project has led them to use galvanizing for all future installations.

The choice of galvanizing for their largest project to date and the complete change of specification to HDG marks a milestone in the success of galvanizing in this industry.
