Hot-dip galvanized steel is used in myriad applications throughout various industries. As such, the Excellence in Hot-Dip Galvanizing Awards recognizes 12 sector and 4 special categories annually. The categories are:

The main sector categories (artistic, water & marine, bridge & highway, etc) classify newly galvanized projects by the type of application. All newly completed projects will be classified into one of these categories for judging purposes.

*The four special categories are classified and/or selected based on different criteria, as follows:

• International – reserved for projects galvanized by non-North American AGA members
• Lifetime Achievement – reserved for projects that have been in service at least 15 years
• Most Distinguished – all submitted projects are considered for this award which honors the best project of the year
• People’s Choice – all submitted projects are eligible for this award which honors the “popular vote” from the AGA’s Excellence Awards site
