The original, and best way to learn is an in-person Galvanize It! seminar. The general in-person seminar is presented by American Galvanizers Association (AGA) staff and/or members of the AGA at your office. And, because you have a galvanizing representative present, any questions or concerns about hot-dip galvanizing or corrosion can be answered immediately. The general in-person course is offered in a 1-, 2-, or 4-hour format and is registered for health, safety, and welfare (HSW) continuing education credits with both the American Institute of Architects (AIA) and the National Council of Examiners for Engineering and Surveying (NCEES).

The general seminar material includes corrosion theory, design of galvanized steel products for quality galvanizing, discussion and video footage of the actual galvanizing process, pertinent ASTM specifications, inspection, painting over the galvanized coating, cathodic protection, electrochemical and galvanic corrosion, and much more.

Additionally, the AGA continues to develop market/product specific Galvanize It! seminars. The newest 1-hour seminar is Sustainable Development & Hot-Dip Galvanizing, which has been approved by AIA and NCEES for Sustainable Design (SD) credit. (It also qualifies for HSW credit.) The Sustainable Development Galvanize It! seminar reviews the life-cycle assessment (LCA) or environmental impact of hot-dip galvanizing, as well as the economic impact or life-cycle cost (LCC).
